All of our medical records are completely electronic.
Associated Cardiologists is the only practice in Pennsylvania to
utilize the unique and state-of-the-art cardiology electronic medical
record system by GEMMS. Our physicians have secure access to the
electronic medical records at all times, whether they are at our
offices, at any of the area hospitals, or on-call after hours. The
prompt accessibility to patient's cardiac and medical history, allergies,
and results of past tests (performed in our office or any area hospital)
prevents unnecessary delays in treatment. The electronic record
system also gives the cardiologist who is taking care of our patients
(on-call or in the hospital, day or night, weekend or weekday) immediate
access to all information known by your regular cardiologist. When
a patient calls with a question, the physician, even from home,
can answer it as accurately as it could be in the office.
Our office is completely computer networked (both
wired and wireless) to ensure that all of our physicians, nurses,
and staff can optimally serve our patients via desktop computers
as well as with pc tablets.
Our patients are the only ones in Pennsylvania to
have the option of owning their cardiac medical records on a portable
compact disk. The mini CD, called "MyRecord" enables patients to
keep a digital copy of their medical history with them during all
times. The CD may be used in the event that a patient relocates
to another hospital or medical office, or in the event of an emergency
while traveling. It can fit into a patient's wallet, be updated,
and is available for a very nominal fee.
