Research
- The Central Pennsylvania Cardiovascular Research Institute (CPCRI)
was developed in 1999 to better coordinate the many disciplines
of Associated Cardiologists, P.C. in an ongoing effort to offer
the most up-to-date treatment methods for our patients.
- Our Research Institute was responsible for bringing carotid
stent procedures to PinnacleHealth Harrisburg Hospital, which
is now one of the country's premier carotid and peripheral vascular
interventional centers. The first carotid stent was placed July
2001 and since then, through various clinical study protocols,
hundreds of these life-saving procedures have been performed.
- We are presently involved in many new and ongoing interventional
coronary and vascular clinical trials.
- The Institute's mission is to improve the quality and effectiveness
of patient care by applying the newest techniques in cardiovascular
medicine through clinical trials. At present, we are participating in
numerous trials involving carotid stenting, new coronary interventional
technologies and pharmacologic therapies.
- There are numerous research studies underway by the EP division,
which have been presented at national and international arrhythmia
conferences.
